The Daily Five is a way of structuring the reading block so every student is independently engaged in meaningful literacy tasks. Students receive explicit whole group instruction and then are given time to read and write independently while the teachers provide focused, intense instruction to individuals and small groups of students. Daily, students will be engaged in 4 of the five Daily Five activities; all of which are on their current instructional level.
